Catherine Bracy Keynote Speaker

Catherine Bracy is the Co-Founder and Executive Director at TechEquity Collaborative. She is the former Director of Community Organizing at Code for America, a non-profit organization that helps citizens and governments harness technology to solve community problems. She supervised Code for America’s civic engagement portfolio, including the Brigade program. She also founded and runs Code for All, Code for America’s international partnership program.

Until November 2012, she was Director of Obama for America’s technology field office in San Francisco, the first of its kind in American political history. Catherine was responsible for building and managing a group of high-influence supporters from the technology industry, who were charged with creating software for the national campaign and spreading the campaign’s message through social media channels.

Prior to joining the campaign, Catherine ran the Knight Foundation’s 2011 News Challenge to fund digital innovation in journalism. Before that she was the administrative director at Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society. She is on the board of directors at the Citizen Engagement Lab and the Public Laboratory.
