Maelle Gavet's Biography
Maëlle Gavet has been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, one of Fortune’s 40 Under 40, one of the Most Creative People in Business by Fast Company and was fifth among Time Magazine’s List of the Top 25 ‘Female Techpreneurs’.
Maelle is the CEO of Techstars, the largest tech accelerator in the world. She is the author of the Wall Street Journal bestseller, ‘ Trampled by Unicorns- Big Tech’s Empathy Problem and How to Fix It’ (Wiley, Sept. 2020). This is an insider’s revealing and in-depth examination of Big Tech’s failure to keep its foundational promises and the steps the industry can take to course-correct in order to make its full impact in this Digital Revolution. After six years as a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group she went on to become CEO of OZON.ru, Russia’s largest e-commerce site. At the Priceline Group, she was tasked with driving the company’s strategy and integrating its six major brands including OpenTable, Kayak and Booking.com.
Most recently as Chief Operating Officer at real estate platform Compass, valued at over $6bn, Gavet oversaw technology, product, marketing, and other corporate functions and was responsible for the execution of the company’s strategic priorities.
