Nick Hewer's Biography

Nick Hewer was coaxed out of early retirement in France by Lord Sugar to star in the tycoon’s BBC television show The Apprentice. Since taking on the role, Nick has become a popular public figure through his knack of employing his sharp wit to challenge contestants.

He started his own PR company in 1966 and was hired by Amstrad to represent them in 1983. He eventually sold his PR agency in 1998. Alongside Amstrad and other international corporations, his firm represented the Secretariat of HH the Aga Khan and the wife of the ruler of Dubai, the late Sheikh Maktoum.

Nick is passionate about giving back, once driving a 20 year old Renault 4L solo from London to Mongolia for charity and taking part in a Children in Need trek from Istanbul to Almaty in Kazakhstan. As a patron of Hope and Homes for Children, Nick helps promote the charity and has worked for them in Romania and Rwanda. Nick’s career has taken him all over the world and he still pursues his lifelong interest in travel.
