Yuri Bender's Biography
Yuri Bender is a financial journalist covering private banking, international asset management and capital markets. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Professional Wealth Management global magazine, website and events hub at the Financial Times.
He has edited and launched several magazines and websites at the Financial Times Group, since he joined in 1992, including FT Mandate, a newspaper for the institutional investment industry.
As a journalist, he has written reports from ‘emerging markets’ including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Kazhakstan, Russia and Ukraine. He writes for FTfm, the fund management section of the FT newspaper.
Yuri attended the London Business School to study Investment Management. He studied International Relations at Cambridge University, where he wrote his Master’s thesis on the economics of armed conflict, with special emphasis on eastern Ukraine.
Yuri Bender is an excellent speaker and moderator. He has moderated in-person and virtual panel discussions, conferences and round tables on financial, business and cultural issues in Europe, the US, Middle East and Asia. He has delivered lectures at Shanghai’s Fudan University, the Kyiv School of Economics, the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts and at the ‘Tuesday Club’ geopolitical think-tank in London.
