Suzy Amis Cameron's Biography
Suzy Amis Cameron is a renowned environmental leader, business pioneer, and published author. She is wholly committed to caring for the wild, the planet and holds a great emphasis on plant-based food to address climate change.
Her passion began when MUSE School became the first school in the country to serve a 100% plant-based lunch program. This led her to write the book, The OMD Plan: Swap One Meal a Day to Save your Health and Save the Planet, and found the OMD movement, which is dedicated to transforming eating habits and expanding access to health and climate-friendly food for all. As a mom of five and a new grandma, Suzy’s mission to ensure that all children have a thriving planet to live on is what motivates her, and OMD also works to equitably increase access to plant-based food at schools, restaurants and businesses.
In 2005, Suzy founded MUSE School CA with her sister, Rebecca Amis. It is the first school in the country to be 100% solar powered, with zero waste and a 100% organic and plant-based lunch program. In 2018, MUSE Global was launched based on MUSE’s values and curriculum and it franchised the school worldwide. Additionally, she is the founder of the plant-based ventures: Verdient Foods, Cameron Family Farms, Food Forest Organics and Plant Power Task Force, with James Cameron, her husband.
In 2009, Suzy launched the Red Carpet Green Dress; a global sustainable fashion campaign that showcases environmentally responsible fashions on the red carpet in partnership with The Oscars. Red Carpet Green Dress also co-creates sustainable garments with luxury fashion International brands. Alongside this, Suzy is also an Executive Producer of The Game Changers, a documentary on world-class plant-based athletes. She was an actress too and was featured in more than 25 films including Titanic.
Suzy has been featured regularly in media, including Women’s Day Magazine, One Green Planet, Good Morning America and Oprah Winfrey’s SuperSoul podcasts, where she discusses the environment, plant-based eating, sustainable fashion, and raising conscious children.
