Scott Harrison's Biography
Scott Harrison is the founder of charity: water, which tackles the global water crisis, a gifted storyteller and inspiring keynote speaker. He motivates and inspires audiences to take action for positive change in the world.
Scott founded charity: water in 2006, on a mission to bring clean water to all. He understood the importance of transparency and authenticity in charities and created the innovative 100% Model, that ensures every penny donated will go towards clean water projects. The charity has funded 91,414 water projects in 29 countries across the world and reached over 14 million people.
Previously, Scott had a very different career, working as a nightclub promoter in New York City. Unfulfilled, he left the USA and spent two years on a hospital ship off the coast of Liberia and saw the effects of dirty water firsthand, which inspired him to take action.
He is the author of New York Times bestseller, ‘Thirst: A Story of Redemption, Compassion, and a Mission to Bring Clean Water to the World’, in which he shares his personal story of redemption and how to tap into the transformative power within all of us.
Scott has been widely recognised for his achievements and has featured in several lists including Fortune’s 40 Under 40, Forbes’ Impact 30 and Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business, where he ranked #10. He is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
As a speaker, Scott captivates audiences with technology and storytelling to emphasise the impact of his non-profit, and inspire others to blaze a trail for change.
