Biography
Satya Nadella is an Indian-American business executive and current CEO of Microsoft.
Before joining Microsoft in 1992, Satya Nadella attended university in both India and the U.S.A. He attained a B.E in Electrical Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology, before moving to America where he attained an MA from The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Computer Science followed by an MBA from The University of Chicago.
Since starting at Microsoft Satya Nadella has led some groundbreaking projects for the company. He was at the forefront of Microsoft’s move towards cloud computing and therefore responsible for one the largest cloud platforms in the world.
Nadella has assumed many roles at Microsoft such as Senior vice-president of Research and Development for the Online Services Division, vice-president of the Microsoft Business Division and president of Microsoft’s Server and Tools Business that lead the company into the era of Cloud technologies.
In 2014 Satya Nadella was named CEO of Microsoft, the third CEO after Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.
This year Nadella will publish his first book entitled Hit Refresh, an insight into the heart of Microsoft and its ongoing transformation. Hit Refresh has been nominated for various awards including the Financial Times and Mckinsey Business Book of the year.
