Sarah Millican's Biography
Sarah Millican is a presenter, writer and one of the UK’s most successful comedians. She has written and presented her own TV shows, and her stand-up tours have won critical acclaim. As a public speaker, Sarah regularly gives speeches and presentations to audiences worldwide.
Since 2019, Sarah has been the host and presenter of a popular Youtube channel with over 50 million views. The same year, she joined the comedy panel show Elephant in the Room as a presenter. Sarah is also the founder of the podcast and online woman’s magazine. Standard Issue, and creator of the agony aunt radio series Sarah Millican’s Support Group.
As one of the UK’s leading comedians, Sarah has worked on numerous programs and television shows. She featured as a co-presenter of BBC Radio 4’s The Museum of Curiosity, host of 2015’s Comic Relief, and co-host of 7 Day Sunday. She has provided voices for various media, including BBC’s Walk on the Wild Side and the adult humour magazine Viz.
As a panellist, Sarah has appeared on Loose Women, The Marriage Ref, Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You, QI, and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Her guest appearances are numerous and include Deal or No Deal as a contestant and guest presenter, headlining an episode of Dave’s One Night Stand, a feature on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and appearing on several episodes of Frank Skinner’s Opinionated.
Celebrated for her comedic work, Sarah has appeared on Live at the Apollo. She has several stand-up tours specials with titles such as Control Enthusiast, Outsider, Thoroughly Modern Millican, Chatterbox and Bobby Dazzler.
Sarah is not just a comedic powerhouse, she is also the author of How to be Champion (2017), a part self-help, part confessional autobiography celebrating her life as a woman who faces challenges with humour and grace.
Sarah gained notoriety in 2005 as runner-up in the Funny Women Awards. The same year, she was a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards and won the Amused Moose Award. She has since won a North West Comedy award, a If.Comedy award, a British Comedy People’s Choice Award and a BAFTA award for Sarah Millican Television Programme.
