Robyn Meredith's Biography
Robyn Meredith is an award-winning business journalist, best-selling author and widely respected thought leader on Asia and globalisation. She is perhaps best known for writing the definitive book on India and China, “The Elephant and the Dragon: The Rise of India and China and What it Means for All of Us” (2007). It was named one of Asia’s best books by the Wall Street Journal Asia, best business book of 2007 by 800CEORead.com and was a finalist for the New York Public Library’s Bernstein Award for Journalism.
Robyn has spent many years writing about Asia and its impact on world affairs. She served as a foreign correspondent and Hong Kong Bureau Chief of Forbes Magazine from 2002 to 2009, covering stories from the Asia region. Robyn became Asia Editor of Forbes.com in 2009, where she wrote the “Off Shore” column on Globalisation, supervised seven writers across Asia and edited Asian news that appeared on the website. She also anchored a weekly Asian news webcast. During her tenure, Robyn doubled the page views for Forbes.com in Asia in six months.
In 2011, Robyn became a Bloomberg TV Asia Correspondent. Here she presented Asian stories, interviewed CEOs and Asian leaders including Malaysia’s Prime Minister and Taiwan’s President, and offered analysis of business, political and economic issues on air on Bloomberg TV’s daily shows.
In 2012 she moved away from media roles to found and direct Asia Hands, a Hong Kong-based strategic advisory to multinational companies and global business leaders. She continues to lead the Asia Insight Circle, the prestigious group she founded to bring Hong Kong business leaders together to discuss regional trends and crucial business issues.
Robyn is currently Managing Director of ReOrient Group, a versatile boutique investment firm based in Hong Kong.
