Riccardo Sabatini's Biography
Riccardo Sabatini is a world renowned scientist and entrepreneur specialising in numerical modelling of complex systems, ranging from material science, to financial markets, computational genomics, and drug design.
In the past, he has served as director for FoodCAST, EU research project on food and commodity markets forecasting; as one of the founding members of Aiida and Quantum ESPRESSO, the largest open source suite for quantum modeling of materials; as lead research scientist for Human Longevity, Silicon Valley unicorn working at the intersection of genomics and artificial intelligence.
As an active supporter of high impact projects, Riccardo Sabatini is a co-founder and faculty member of the Refugees Action HUB center at MIT, educational effort of MIT targeting displaced population around the world; an advisor and supporter of the Human Code Foundation, a charity focusing on scientific dissemination of genomics and health; and finally as co-founder and advisor of local chapters of Impact HUB.
In the last few years, Riccardo has moved into the speaking world and is a speaker at international events and conferences, including TED and WEF.
He is also an author in top ranking scientific journals, a consultant for Fortune500 companies, and a board member for some groundbreaking start-ups in the field of artificial intelligence.
Today he’s working on how to solve drug design at genomic scale with his company, Orionis Biosciences.
