Ralph Atkins's Biography
Ralph Atkins is a leading economics commentator and journalist, who has written for the Financial Times (FT) for over 25 years. He is currently the Capital Markets Editor, a position he was appointed to in 2012.
Ralph began his career at the FT in 1987 when he joined as a graduate trainee, becoming a UK political reporter in 1989. In 1993 Ralph assumed his first editing position, serving as the deputy features editor based in London.
He has also worked as a correspondent in Bonn, Berlin, Jerusalem and Brussels.
From 2004 to 2012 Ralph was the Frankfurt Bureau Chief, responsible for the FT’s coverage of the European Central Bank and eurozone economy during the financial crisis, as well as overseeing German corporate coverage.
