Peter Zeihan's Biography

Peter Zeihan is a geopolitical strategist who specializes in global energy, demographics and security.  He combines an expert understanding of demography, economics, energy, politics, technology, and security to help clients best prepare for an uncertain future.

A critically-acclaimed author, Zeihan has lived in the domain of global affairs, both geographical and political, throughout his entire career. His worldview mixes knowledge and real life applications of geography and global population to achieve a deeper understanding of how worldwide politics widely impact economic trends and markets, further empowering industry leaders in their ventures full of risks and opportunities.

Over the course of Zeihan’s career, he has worked in many positions, such as at the US State Department in Australia, the DC think tank community, and helping develop the analytical models for one of the world’s leading private intelligence companies, Stratfor.

In 2012, he created his own firm – Zeihan on Geopolitics – so he could specialize in customized executive briefings for clients, in which he has and applies a geopolitical perspective and over a decade of intelligence experience tailored specifically to his client, helping them envision their industry and businesses from a different perspective so that they can move toward a clearer and more understandable future.   His clients represent a vast array of sectors including energy majors, financial institutions, business associations, agricultural interests, universities, and the U.S. military. Although his subject matter is somewhat esoteric in nature, he is able to “boil down” his topics and content into an easily digestible and accessible format for all audiences.

Zeihan’s first book was, “The Accidental Superpower: The Next Generation of American Preeminence and the Coming Global Disorder” (2014), and even more recently has written his sophomore installment, “The Absent Superpower: The Shale Revolution and a World Without America” (2017). His latest work is “The End of the World is Just the Beginning: Mapping the Collapse of Globalization” (June 2022).

He is a frequent guest on national and international television news shows on CNN, ABC, Fox News, and also is frequently interviewed for radio programs. He has been quoted in major print and online publications including New York Times, Forbes, AP, Bloomberg, MarketWatch and many others.  He graduated from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce with a developmental degree.
