Marsha Ramroop's Biography
Marsha Ramroop is an award-winning inclusion strategist and internationally recognized Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) specialist with over three decades of experience in media, consultancy, and organizational change.
As a seasoned broadcaster and award-winning journalist, Marsha combines her deep knowledge of communication and culture with her passion for promoting diversity and inclusion to help organizations transform their environments into equitable spaces where all individuals can thrive.
She is the founder and director of Unheard Voice Consultancy, where she partners with organizations to develop strategic EDI programs and cultural intelligence training. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based methods and practical applications, empowering leaders and teams to foster inclusive cultures that drive innovation, productivity, and employee engagement. In addition to running her consultancy, Ramroop also serves on several boards and organizations, including the Building People CIC. She is the Executive Director of EDI at the hub which is focused on resources and career pathways for underrepresented groups in the built environment.
Prior to founding her consultancy, Marsha served as the inaugural Director of Inclusion and Diversity at the Royal Institute of British Architects where she ran a radio programme for a week about inclusion for the profession, reaching 10-thousand listeners worldwide. This was followed by her successful career as a broadcaster with the BBC for 20 years, where she focused on stories that brought underrepresented voices to the forefront. Her work in media gave her a unique perspective on the power of storytelling and its role in shaping perceptions, driving her interest in cultural intelligence and its application in business and organizational settings.
Marsha’s passion for inclusion is reflected in her groundbreaking book, Building Inclusion: Practical Guide to Inclusion in Architecture & the Built Environment, published in 2024. As the first book of its kind for the sector, it offers a comprehensive, hands-on approach for professionals looking to implement inclusive practices across their organizations, projects, and stakeholder engagements.
