Lee Hopley's Biography
Lee Hopley is the Chief Economist at EEF, an organisation championing manufacturing and engineering in the UK and EU. Lee is responsible for developing and communicating EEF’s policy thinking to its members, the media, the government and other key policy makers. She leads their work on the economy and industrial policy, dealing with macroeconomic issues and matters relating to productivity and manufacturing competitiveness.
Lee also co-ordinates the organisation’s work on policy issues including investment, tax, innovation and infrastructure, and oversees its economic forecasting. Amongst other things, Lee represents EEF on UKTI’s Advanced Engineering Advisory Board and is a member of the Economic Monitoring Panel at the Department for Business.
Before joining EEF, Lee worked as an economic adviser to the Scottish National Party in both the Scottish Parliament and the House of Commons.
