Lanhee Chen is one of Mitt Romney’s closest and most influential advisors. A 34-year-old economist and former think tanker, Chen was responsible for developing the blueprint for a Republican Administration.
After obtaining his first degree in 1999, Chen moved to DC where he worked at a lobbying firm and then as a fellow at the Heritage Foundation. After a stint as a senior aide in Bush’s Health and Human Services department, Chen served on Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC as policy director in 2011.
As a visiting scholar at the Heritage Foundation and at the University of California’s Institute of Government Studies, Chen authored papers on a wide range of policy areas, including one published in November 2010 criticising President Obama’s healthcare reform law. He is also the architect of Mitt Romney’s ‘Plan for Jobs and Economic Growth’.
