Joanna Barsh's Biography
Director Emeritus at McKinsey & Company, Joanna Barsh is also the best-selling author of How Remarkable Women Lead and Centered Leadership. Joanna served clients on strategic growth, performance transformation, organisation challenges. And in 2008, Joanna launched the Centered Leadership project to develop leaders seeking outsized impact in today’s complex and changing world. Grow Wherever You Work builds on this foundation speaking to high performing, high potential younger professionals who want greater growth at work.
Joanna is also a strong advocate for women. Invited by Mayor Bloomberg in 2002, Joanna serves on NYC’s Commission on Women’s Issues. She led ground-breaking research for The Wall Street Journal’s Women in Econ Task Force and for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Joanna has spoken at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women summit, DB’s Women on Wall Street and Women in Asia summits, the EVE Programme, and at MAKERS2014. She has engaged with business and government leaders globally, including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the U.K., and of course, the U.S.
Joanna serves on the Genesco board and Sesame Workshop. She holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Chicago and Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar.
