Jim Carroll's Biography

For close to 20 years, Jim Carroll has been studying what makes companies relentlessly creative and how they ride critical fast-paced trends in order to achieve dramatic market success. He provides guidance that is timely and unique: how to realign business strategy for fast-paced economic trends and new business realities; a realistic outline of the emerging trends, threats and opportunities that will impact your organization; how to become a more forward thinking organization that can anticipate and manage change, rather than reacting to it; and guidance on how to do things differently in a world that demands constant, relentless innovation.

The author of several books including “The Future Belongs to Those Who are Fast, Ready, Set, Done: How to Innovate When Faster is the New Fast” (2007) ; and “What I Learned from Frogs in Texas” (2010), Carroll has been featured in Businessweek as one of four leading sources for insight into future trends and innovation, and was a featured expert on the CNBC Series, “The Business of Innovation.” His insight has been extensively covered in the media, including ABC News, Inc., Fast Company, the South China Morning Post (Hong Kong), American Way, Capital magazine (Dubai/United Arab Emirates) CEO Magazine Hungary, Association Leadership, the National Post and Profit.

When the GAP went looking for a trends and innovation expert to speak to a small, intimate group of senior executives, they chose Carroll. He has been the keynote speaker for some of the largest retail conferences in the world, with audiences of up to 7,000 people in Las Vegas, including Consumer Goods Technology Business & Technology Leadership Conference, Retail Value Chain Federation, Yum! Brands (KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut) Global Leadership Conference, Readers Digest Food & Entertainment Group Branding/Retail Summit, Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association and many more.

Jim is widely recognized for his deep research and analysis of how innovative organizations are achieving market or transformational growth despite deep economic challenges. He is the first external speaker to have ever been invited to open the Annual General Meeting of the PGA – Professional Golf Association of America.
