Jessica Ennis's Biography
Jessica Ennis CBE is a Olympic gold medalist and a British record holder (2012). Jessica’s recent sporting achievements crown a long and illustrious streak of world records, titles and top medals including: World Champion in the heptathlon (2010), World Champion in pentathlon (2010) and European heptathlon Champion (2010).
Jessica has been widely recognised for her sporting achievement: Chosen as the “British Athlete of the year” by British Athletics Writers’ Association (2009, 2010, 2011) and “Sportswoman of the Year” award by the Sports Journalists’ Association (2009, 2012) and in 2012 was finally named BBC sports personality of the year, having been voted into the top three for the three years previous.
Ennis is a patron of the Sheffield Children’s Hospital charity and of businessman Barrie Wells’s sports foundation.
