Jeff Hammerbacher is Assistant Professor at Hammer Lab, an investor at Techammer, and a board member at Ciox and Cytel. Previously, Jeff was a founder and Chief Scientist of Cloudera, an Entrepreneur in Residence at Accel Partners, manager of the Data team at Facebook, and a fixed income quant at Bear Stearns. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Harvard University.

Jeff’s work has been featured in the Economist, the New York Times, the Harvard Business Review, and he has been recognized as an MIT Technology Review Innovator Under 35, Forbes Disruptor Under 30, and BusinessWeek Best Young Tech Entrepreneur. Through Facebook and Cloudera his teams have created 3 of the most popular open source databases (Cassandra, Hive, and Impala), through Techammer he has invested in over 100 startups, and through Hammer Lab he has published over 20 scientific papers, primarily in the field of cancer immunotherapy.
