Jas Hawker's Biography
Jas Hawker is a professional and proven leader with a track record of solving complex and demanding leadership, team and organisation challenges, as well as implementing change management programmes in time pressured and stressful environments.
Jas has first-hand experience of developing and leading a world-class high performance team as Leader of the Red Arrows, the world’s premier formation aerobatic team. As a fighter pilot, he was the youngest ever pilot to fly the Tornado ground attack aircraft on the front-line. In 1999 he was selected to join the Red Arrows for 3 years. He returned to the Red Arrows in 2007 when he was selected to be Commanding Officer and leader of the Red Arrows. During this time he led the team on tours across 4 continents, amassing well over 500 public displays.
Jas is currently the Operations Director of Mission Excellence, an organisational performance consultancy focused on improving clients’ execution – closing the gap between what gets talked about and planned, and what gets delivered. Methodology is based on consultants’ personal experience of delivering results in complex high-pressure environments. Interventions are delivered in 2 main areas: Operational Excellence and Risk and Safety Management, in addition to keynotes and team development for management meetings and conferences. The company works with some of the world’s most successful organisations including global corporations, professional sport, not-for-profit and academic programmes.
Jas has undertaken a number of high-level appointments within the Ministry of Defence, advising senior military officers and civil servants on strategic and operational matters; specifically developing national contingency and crisis plans and advising on capability development. He has practical experience of operational level campaign planning having deployed to Afghanistan as a Senior Air Advisor.
