Gary Hamel's Biography

Gary Hamel is a business thinker, author and one of the most influential management consultants. His ideas about management and strategy have been translated into more than 25 languages and taught in universities worldwide. As a keynote speaker, Gary is passionate about helping businesses become more innovative and effective. His management ideas have changed how people think about organizations and what it takes to be successful in them.

Since 1983, Gary has been a Visiting Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the London Business School. He shares his insight into effective organizational management with future business leaders, offering suggestions and practical guidance on the future of the workforce. Using revolutionary concepts such as core competencies, management innovation and strategic intent, he takes an in-depth look at management and how it has evolved. In addition, Gary is also the co-founder and director of the Management Innovation Exchange (MIX), a global network of business professionals committed to redesigning management for the 21st century.

Gary is also the former founder and Chairman of Strategos, a consultancy founded in 1995 that helps companies innovate. By providing strategy development and process improvement, the firm has helped global organizations improve their ability to create new ideas and creations.

As an author, Gary has published several books on business strategy. His latest offering, Humanocracy (2020), explores humanocracy, which aims to create an environment in which all employees are inspired to give their best by upskilling the company workforce and making every job good. His other books include, What Matters Now (2012), The Future of Management (2007), Leading the Revolution (2000) and Competing for the future (1994).
