Freddie Sayers's Biography
Freddie Sayers is a journalist and interviewer who runs the UK-based alternative media platform UnHerd, and presents the site’s breakout YouTube interview series, LockdownTV. The series includes interviews with some of the world’s most influential scientists, economists, and politicians.
UnHerd’s mission is to challenge ‘herd mentality’ and celebrate otherwise unheard ideas, people and places. Since Freddie joined as Executive Editor in May 2019 its audience has grown over 500% to over 3m a month, making it one of the standout success stories in British new media.
On day one of lockdown in the UK, in March 2020, Freddie launched LockdownTV, a YouTube interviews show talking to experts and thinkers about what was really happening in this extraordinary year. It has since racked up nearly 10m views, with viewers from across the world.
Before taking the reins at UnHerd, Freddie was Editor-in-Chief of global data company YouGov, founder of multiple media and data startups including political news website PoliticsHome and messaging survey company InConvo (now YouGovChat).
As a commentator he has also been published in the Daily Telegraph, Evening Standard, Spectator and Prospect.
