Frans Johansson's Biography
Frans Johansson is a highly sought-after keynote speaker, entrepreneur and business strategist. He looks at creativity at the intersections of fields, disciplines, and cultures, arguing that breakthrough ideas are most often “intersectional” and occur when we bring concepts from one field into a new, unfamiliar territory.
Frans is the international best-selling author of “The Medici Effect” (HBS Press, 2004). This book takes readers on a fascinating journey to the Intersection – a place where ideas collide, igniting an explosion of innovation. Out of these seemingly random combinations have come ground-breaking ideas that have created whole new field.
He is also author of “The Click Moment: Seizing Opportunity in an Unpredictable World” (Penguin Portfolio, 2012), his acclaimed follow up on how to harness serendipity to stand apart. It obliterates the idea that in business you can strategise, plan and analyse your way to success.
After years of inspiring through his talks, he founded The Medici Group, a consultancy and advisory firm. Here he put his innovation process to work with organisations looking to drive growth and transform leaders and cultures. He has advised executives and captivated audiences from 30% of the Fortune 100 such as IBM, Disney, Johnson & Johnson and American Express; as well as start-ups, venture capital firms, government agencies and universities around the world.
