David Epstein's Biography
David Epstein is a New York Times #1 best-selling author and renowned science journalist, with master’s degrees in environmental science and journalism who is a highly respected speaker in peak performance.
He worked for ProPublica (2013-17), where his investigative reporting covered issues ranging from flawed medical research to inadequate drug enforcement. Before that, he was a senior writer at Sports Illustrated (2006-13), where he co-authored the story that revealed Alex Rodriguez’s steroid use.
Columbia Journalism alumni chose his story “Following the Trail of Broken Hearts,” about sudden cardiac death in athletes, as one of the top 100 stories of the last 100 years. His work has been applauded by recognised organisations, such as the Society of Professional Journalists, and the National Center on Disability and Journalism, as well as the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. His writing has also been featured in a variety of acclaimed international and national media, from The Atlantic and National Geographic to the New York Times.
