Dalea Rundblad's Biography
Dalea Rundblad is a recording artist and human diversity visibility champion. Dalea is the founder of #GirlComet, a social media project that is focused on inspiring and empowering people of all ages, especially youth. She is also the content creator of the inspirational web-series Icon’s creed.
Dalea was born with androgen insensitivity syndrome (XY Female) and spent her childhood and teen years growing-up in obscurity. In 2014, Dalea decided to use her platform and personal experiences to help inspire others and spread diversity awareness, by choosing to be visible. In May of the same year, Dalea’s story of growing up intersex and subject to bullying caught the nation’s attention with the release of her first inspirational video “Heart Of A Champion,” followed by a feature interview in COSMOPOLITAN Magazine “What it’s really like to be intersex” and UK’s VADA Magazine “Challenging Perspectives.” Latina Magazine recently featured Dalea in “Destigmatizing the “I” in LGBTQI” and her brand new National Radio feature on NPR Latino “No longer hiding in plain sight” quickly became top-trend on their website and going strong.
As an artist, Dalea has found success as the lead singer of the Rock Band “Quimera Music” (2009- 2013), then moving on as a solo artist in 2014. Her voice has been featured in film, TV commercials and meditation programs.
Dalea keeps busy as a speaker, as an artist, and she is currently working on an inspirational coffee table book.
