Chris Voss Keynote Speaker

Chris Voss is a negotiation expert, speaker, and author who has a wealth of experience in high-stakes negotiations. He began his career in 1986 as a member of the New York City Joint Terrorism Task Force, where he was involved in monitoring the New York City landmark bomb plot and investigating the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. He was also the “co-case agent” during the investigation of the 1996 TWA Flight 800 explosion.

In 1992, Chris received hostage negotiation training at the FBI Academy and spent 24 years working in the FBI Crisis Negotiation Unit. From 2003 to 2007, he was the FBI’s chief international hostage and kidnapping negotiator and worked on over 150 international hostage cases. He was the lead negotiator on several high-profile cases, including the Jill Carroll case in Iraq and the Steve Centanni case in the Gaza Strip.

After retiring from the FBI in 2007, Chris founded The Black Swan Group, a consultancy, and trainer for both businesses and individuals on negotiation skills. He also became an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a lecturer at the USC Marshall School of Business.

In 2016, Chris co-authored the bestselling book “Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It” with journalist Tahl Raz, which has sold over one million copies and has been translated into more than 30 languages. In 2019, Chris created and narrated a Master Class on negotiation, titled “The Art of Negotiation.”

Throughout his career, Chris has received numerous accolades, including the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement and the FBI Agents Association Award for Distinguished and Exemplary Service. He is also a regular commentator on CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and NPR, and has been featured in publications such as Forbes, The New York Times, Inc., Variety, and Time.

 Today, he continues to share his expertise and insights on negotiation through his work as a speaker, author, and consultant.
