Bonnie Chan Woo's Biography
Bonnie Chan Woo is a global businesswoman and expert in art, culture and entertainment. She is CEO of Complex China, a global platform for youth culture from the US, and Chairperson and CEO of Icicle Group. She is a popular speaker and offers her expert insights into the industry, and how inbound and outbound brands are entering and communicating across cultures. She regularly speaks passionately to audiences about advocating for women in business leadership and entrepreneurship.
Bonnie is CEO of leading entertainment company Complex China, a partner of Complex Networks, and spends her time between Hong Kong, Shangai, LA and New York. She is an expert in all things pop culture across Greater China, including streetwear, sneakers, sports and style.
She is Chairperson and CEO of Icicle Group, a leading cross-media branding, marketing and entertainment group with offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Bangalore. The Group is publicly traded on Growth Enterprise Markets (GEM) of Hong Kong Stock Exchange and services 250+ brands. It provides a unique result-driven approach using technology, strategic design thinking, continuous development of creative talents and the best-in-class production discipline.
In 2017, with a passion for storytelling, Bonnie co-founded Studio SV with Grammy award-winning hip hop artist, Lupe Fiasco. The studio produces original content in online and film formats bridging cultures and promoting diversity and inclusivity. Bonnie received the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award in 2018.
Outside of work, she actively contributes to the creative industry, the arts and culture community and the education sector through her advisory roles and directorships in various Hong Kong government bureaus, NGOs and charities, including Para Site, a non-profit contemporary art institution, and Hong Kong Design Centre, where she serves as Director of the Board and Vice Chairperson respectively.
Bonnie graduated from University of Oxford. She is a Fellow of the China Fellowship, a moderator and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
