Ben Parr's Biography
Ben Parr is a respected technology entrepreneur, investor, journalist and keynote speaker.
Ben is Managing Partner of DominateFund, an early-stage venture capital firm he co-founded in 2012 that helps start-ups get attention for their products by 1) connecting start-ups with celebs and influencers and 2) coaching start-ups on how to deal with media and the press, user acquisition strategies, and how to navigate Hollywood.
Previously, from 2008-11, Ben was the Co-Editor and Editor-at-Large of Mashable, where he wrote more than 2,400 articles on social media and technology, managed Mashable’s editorial team, and interviewed everyone from Ashton Kutcher to Mark Zuckerberg. From 2012-13, Ben was a Columnist and Commentator for the popular technology news website CNET, where he opined on technology and entrepreneurship. In 2014, he launched a new column with Inc. Magazine, focused on business and entrepreneurship
His first book, “Captivology: The Secret Science of Capturing People’s Attention” (due April 2015), reveals the secrets behind grabbing people’s attention and being memorable.
In 2010, Ben was named a “Technology Industry Trendsetter, Luminary & Chronicler” by the Public Relations Society of America. In 2011, he was named one of the top 10 tech journalists in the world by Say Media, and named San Francisco’s coolest social media geek by SF Weekly. In 2012, Ben was named to the “Forbes 30 Under 30” list.
