Aza Raskin's Biography
Aza Raskin trained as a mathematician and dark matter physicist, Aza is the cofounder for The Earth Species Project (ESP) and the Center for Humane Technology. Through ESP’s work, the technology uses machine learning to decode animal languages, and if successful, would profoundly alter the human experience and the future of the ecological world forever.
Aza is also the co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology and on a quest to reimagine the digital world and reduce social media harms. He was essential to the creation of the double Emmy award-winning global phenomenon The Social Dilemma on Netflix. He helped build the web at early Mozilla (his company Humanized was Mozilla’s first acquisition) and happens to be the son of human-computer interface designer Jef Raskin who helped invent the first Macintosh at Apple.
Aza has taken three companies from founding to acquisition, is the co-host for the popular podcast Your Undivided Attention, a chairing member of the World Economic Forum’s Global AI Counsel, helped found Mozilla Labs, and was named FastCompany’s Master of Design, and to Forbes and Inc Magazines 30-under-30.
The Earth Species Project is works with some of the world’s top academic institutions including Cornell, MIT, University of Oxford, UC Davis, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, and the Jane Goodall Institute.
