Anna McNuff's Biography
Anna McNuff is a British writer, speaker and adventurer. After retiring from the GB rowing team in her mid-twenties, her passion for adventure and the outdoors continued to drive her to new extremes. Last year Anna was voted by the Lord Mayor as one of the City of London’s 50 most inspirational people, and more recently nominated as one one of the Discovery Chanel’s ‘Make Your World Bigger’ Champions. Combining her degree in psychology with her career as an elite athlete, Anna is able to provide some fascinating insights into the relationship between mind and body which she has learnt along the way.
In 2013, Anna cycled her way – unassisted – through each and every state of the USA. Two years later, she ran almost 2,000 miles along New Zealand’s Te Araroa trail – a five and a half month journey reliant only on her legs and her backpack. Through both journeys she raised over £20,000 for charities Right to Play and The Outward bound Trust.
The daughter of two Olympians, Anna was fortunate enough to grow up in a family passionate about sport and the great outdoors. She’s now on a mission to give a little of that back, to help children gain access to sporting opportunities and the great outdoors, and to use adventure as a platform to inspire and enable kids to get outside, and get exploring.
