Andrew Rawnsley's Biography

Andrew Rawnsley is the The Observer’s award-winning Chief Political Commentator and Associate Editor. He is a best-selling author and critically-acclaimed broadcaster.

His television documentaries about David Cameron, Gordon Brown, Tony Blair and John Major have been acclaimed across the media as compelling and revelatory viewing.

Andrew presents the lively discussion programme, Leader Conference for BBC Radio 4 and before that was anchor of Radio 4’s Westminster Hour and Channel 4’s A Week In Politics.

Servants of the People (Penguin, 2001), his book about New Labour, was a top ten best-seller in both hard cover and paperback. It was voted Channel 4 Political Book of the Year. His latest book, The End of the Party (Penguin, 2010), detailed Gordon Brown’s violent tempers while in government. It was a number one best-seller in its first week of publication.
