Andrea Chegut's Biography
Andrea Chegut has worked at the intersection of innovation, urban economics and real estate for over a decade. She is the Co-Founder and Director of MIT’s Real Estate Innovation (REI) Lab and speaks about urban innovation and technology, the economics of innovation and real estate finance and development.
Andrea is a Research Scientist at MIT. She researches innovation in the built environment, including innovative products, processes and technologies, and their financial and economic impact. She also teaches classes on innovation, corporate finance and entrepreneurship at MIT.
She is Co-Founder and Head of Research of DesignX, an academic program within MIT’s School of Architecture and Planning, that supports students, faculty and researches to build new business ventures and innovation solutions for the future of cities and the human environment.
Andrea joined MIT in 2o13 as a Visiting Researcher in the Center for Real Estate at the Department for Urban Studies and Planning. Previously, she was a Researcher at Maastricht University, where she completed PhD in financial economics.
Prior to working at MIT, Andrea worked in securities asset pricing, developing asset pricing models for commercial real estate, green buildings and digital infrastructure.
