Financial speaker Senator Scott Brown on the fiscal cliff
I caught up with Senator Brown in New York last week, and we talked about the ongoing negotiations between the White House and Capitol Hill over the US deficit. The American Taxpayer Relief Act, signed into law by President Obama on 1 January 2013, provided temporary relief to the US fiscal cliff but attention is now on the new March deadline for a comprehensive deal on US spending and taxes. Scott was the swing vote in the Senate to pass Dodd-Frank in 2010, and maintains a close interest in the future of the US financial service industry, and industry regulation.
