Is India a Blueprint for Africa?

Really thought-provoking Chartwell Breakfast Club discussion at the RAC this morning. Zain Latif, founder of TLG Capital, and Dr. Sue Onslow, co-head of the Africa International Affairs Programme at LSE IDEAS, explored how the political and economic environment throughout the continent is affecting investment opportunities.

For Zain, India, with its rising consumer-oriented middle class and large, chaotic and informal private sector, provides the best development model for Africa. Everyone knows about the investment potential in commodities on the continent, but there is also a lot of mileage in sectors such as healthcare, insurance, telcoms, financial services & even areas such as bottled water.
