Go Karen!
After a fantastic opening ceremony to the Paralympic Games yesterday evening we’re champing at the bit to see Karen Darke, Team GB handcyclist and brilliant motivational speaker, in action. She has come a long way since being paralysed after a rock climbing accident at the age of 21: she has climbed Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and California’s El Capitan, has won the KIMM Swiss Marathon and has hand-cycled the length of Japan. And on Wednesday she will commence her Paralympic campaign in the road race and time trial handcycling events. Go Karen!
