Rupert SmithGreat to catch up with Rupert Smith over a cup of tea. Rupert – a former Deputy Commander Europe of NATO and the best-selling author of Utility of Force (Allen Lane, 2005) – is just back from a sailing expedition to the Arctic Circle. When we last saw him, speaking at a Chartwell breakfast discussion, he was explaining how Western democracies were struggling to adapt to our Age of Insecurity. He also warned the British Government to stay out of Syria. Few people are better placed to decode the complexities of geopolitics, and put the civil war in Syria and the wider Middle East in context. We are very proud to represent him!
