The Middle East’s Economic Outlook
The discovery of large energy reserves in the Western Hemisphere threatens to marginalise Middle East oil and gas producers. Will the region remain dependent on oil exports, or can states diversify? Tensions around Iran’s nuclear programme create damaging uncertainty. How can investors best navigate the region’s opportunities and challenges? And what affect has the Arab Spring had on the region’s emerging economies?
To answer these questions we are joined by Dr Nasser Saidi, Chief Economist of Dubai International Financial Centre, and Lebanon’s Minister of Economy and Trade (1998-2000), and Ayesha Sabavala, Editor/Economist, Economist Intelligence Unit.
