We were lucky enough to host Bronwen Maddox, the Editor of Prospect, for a fleeting coffee last week. Bronwen joined us directly from a breakfast with the US military top brass, and left us to join a conference call with Frankfurt. She is a busy lady; her schedule takes her regularly to China and the US and she still writes op-ed and business columns for The Times, where she was Chief Foreign Commentator from 2001 to 2011. Her background as a banker means Bronwen is particularly well placed to analyse and explain the nexus between geopolitics and the global economy. We discussed the prospects for war with Iran, the geopolitical implications of Europe’s debt crisis, the US presidential elections and Asia Pacific rivalry.

The really good news is that Bronwen has agreed to interview Harvard historian Paul Kennedy at a forthcoming Breakfast Club event at the Royal Automobile Club. Watch this space.
