Almost 3 Years of War in Ukraine - What Lies Ahead?
The war in Ukraine will be three years old in February 2025.
In recent weeks, there has been an escalation in attacks from Russia. We also have seen Western sourced missiles being fired into Russia and subsequent nuclear threats from Russia to the West. North Korean troops, among others, are bolstering Russian forces and Ukraine is now on the back foot. Trump’s claim to sort this out in 24 hours is clearly impossible, but the situation must either be negotiated to some kind of settlement or we risk hostilities spreading further.
Furthermore, the war in Ukraine has driven up inflation and immigration which will take a generation and many billions in cost to recover. Coupled with the loss of life and destruction, there is an international appetite to find a solution soon. It is a central concern for us all.
