A message from Chartwell's chairman, James Birch

James Birch
editor at Chartwell Speakers

I hope you and your family are safe and were able to enjoy the Easter weekend despite facing such difficult and uncertain times.

In the past month we have postponed or cancelled several hundred speakers destined to appear at events all across the world. While this has been a devastating blow to Chartwell, our speakers and our clients, we remain open, re-arranging events for later this year and into 2021. We are also arranging telephone and video calls with our economists, politicians and other experts who have insight into the current crisis and beyond. It has been an opportunity to re-visit the breadth and depth of experience and creativity that our speakers possess.

I expect that the prospect of making solid plans for the foreseeable future may seem premature, but we are able to make bookings on a provisional basis, that will give event planners the flexibility and confidence to react rapidly to changes in meeting and travel restrictions. While not all our staff are working all the time, there is always someone on duty in all the regions we operate in – London, Dublin, Hong Kong, Dallas & New York, and we would welcome the chance to discuss future events, even if on a speculative basis.

Below are links to examples of some of our topical speakers:

Economic Consequences

Impact on Technology and Innovation

Politics and Society

With best wishes from all of us at Chartwell
