Mitt Romney Speech at Trine University for 2016 Commencement

Earlier this year, former Governor of Massachussetts and US Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney addressed graduating students at Trine University, Indiana, in a 2016 Commencement Speech.

In his talk to students, parents and faculty members, Mitt structured his advice into remarks entitled, the ‘Seven Habits of Highly Happy People’, borrowing from the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by his own college friend and best-selling author, Stephen R. Covey. In an address that covered the eternal concerns of love, friendship, family, working hard, staying humble and the tools we have to shape our own future, Mitt used anecdotes, stories and experiences from his own personal, business and public life to produce an  amusing and thought-provoking speech.

Commencement speech by Vivek Wadhwa: “It’s a beautiful time to be alive and educated”

Vivek Wadhwa speakerCheck out the latest column for the Washington Post by Vivek Wadhwa – a leading speaker on innovation.

It is the commencement speech that he gave at Hult International Business School on Friday, to 2000 students and family members. Vivek talks about the opportunity our children have to build the future that we dreamed about, as we are currently living in an age of unprecedented potential. He also stresses the risks, disruptions, and the need for a higher purpose.

“The most important skill of the future will be the ability to learn and adapt. You need to be resourceful, keep your eyes open for advances coming out of nowhere, and embrace the new opportunities as they emerge. You need to be able to collaborate with others and build relationships. You need to be able to share ideas, inspire, and motivate.”

“Fight for YES” proclaims innovation speaker DJ Patil

Fight for YES - DJ Patil speakerGiving a motivational commencement speech for the 2014 UC Santa Cruz Basking School of Engineering, DJ Patil, one of the world’s foremost authorities on data science and a leading innovation speaker, told the new graduates to chase their big ideas, but most importantly lead a path of intellectual honesty.

DJ explains that we are entering a time where everyone is looking for reasons to say “no”. No to finding solutions to poverty. No to comprehensive global health care. No to keeping our planet pristine for our children.

He goes on to tell the graduates that “saying yes to tackling these challenges will come from you. The diploma that you’re about to receive isn’t just a certification of how good you are. It’s a baton of trust given to you with the expectation that you will take on these challenges…Class of 2014, hear the no’s, expect the no’s, confront them, respect them, but do not accept them. Fight for YES.”
