Born January 26, 1973 in Palo Alto, California, and described by the New York Times as “the most promising new talent in political comedy in many years,” W Kamau Bell is a bonafide culturalist and racial equality activist. Bell is a far-left, sociopolitical comedian and host of his critically acclaimed television comedy series on FX titled Totally Bidased with W. Kamau Bell. He also was, more recently, the narrator/host of the highly popular Emmy award winning CNN documentary series United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell, a program that discusses the topic of the beliefs and morals that America was built on and where it’s going from where it is today.

Bell is also the American Civil Liberties Union’s Ambassador of Racial Justice. On May 2nd, Kamau published his first book, The Awkward Thoughts of W. Kamau Bell: Tales of a 6′ 4″, African American, Heterosexual, Cisgender, Left-Leaning, Asthmatic, Black and Proud Blerd, Mama’s Boy, Dad, and Stand-Up Comedian, through Dutton Penguin Random House LLC. He has recently released the audio recording from his comedy special Semi-Prominent Negro as his third comedy album, which is produced by Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me, the Greatest Movie Ever Sold, Inside Man).  Bell is a public radio talk show host on Kamau Right Now! which airs in San Francisco, California, and is also a co-host for two podcasts titled Denzel Washington is the Greatest Actor of All Time Period with Kevin Avery, and Politically Re-Active with Hari Kondabolu. Kamau has been nominated for multiple Image Awards for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and was featured on Conde Nast’s ‘Daring 25’ list for 2016, comparing him to Dave Chappelle.
