Jim Collins is an internationally best-selling author, business consultant and leading authority on company sustainability and growth.
In 1995, Jim founded his internationally renowned management laboratory, conducting research into business performance and offering tutorials on sustainability and expansion. In total, Jim has worked with senior executives and CEOs at over a hundred major corporations, and has consulted for numerous public sector organisations, including Johns Hopkins Medical School, the American Association of School Superintendents, and the United States Marine Corps.
Jim is the author of five internationally best-selling books on business. In 1994, he published ‘Built to Last’, which was a fixture on the Business Week bestseller list for more than six years and was translated into 40 languages. His most recent work, ‘Great By Choice’, was published in 2011. Based on nine years of research, it answers the question of why some companies thrive in uncertainty, and others do not. Overall, Jim’s works have sold over ten million copies worldwide, and have been translated into 40 languages.
Jim makes regular appearances on CNN and CNBC, and is a frequent contributor to leading business publications, including Harvard Business Review, Business Week and Fortune. He placed fourth in Harvard Business Review’s Top 50 Most Influential Management Gurus in 2011, and was named ‘Innovator of the Year’ by Boston University in 2012.
