As David Cameron gears up for his battle on the EU budget today, the relationship between Britain and the EU is looking particularly shakey – and that’s saying something.

The uncertainty has left many of us scratching our heads trying to figure out what all this might mean for Europe’s future.  So it was a particular pleasure to have Mary Ann Sieghart in the Chartwell office for coffee yesterday. A former Lex columnist at the FT, former presenter of the BBC’s Newshour, and former chief political leader-writer at the Times, she shed very interesting light on possible future European scenarios and the challenges they would present to both the political and business establishments in Britain.
