Mark is an amazing man on an amazing journey which combines his own courage and determination with next generation robotics in a bold attempt to push back the boundaries of science and technology.

Unbroken by sudden blindness at the age of 22, Mark went on to compete in ultra endurance races across deserts, mountains, and the polar ice caps. These challenges include a race to the South Pole, 6 marathons in 7 days in the Gobi Desert, and the Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon. He won silver and bronze medals for rowing at the Commonwealth Games.

In July 2010 Mark fell from a second story window, he broke his back and was left paralysed. Refusing to be beaten, Mark vowed to walk again. His response has been highly innovative: combining human willpower and perseverance with breakthrough technologies to achieve his wildly ambitious goal. Through the Ekso Bionics Programme, Mark is now pioneering the frontiers of spinal cord injury recovery through aggressive physical therapy and robotic technology.

Mark’s resilience and achievements have also given him extraordinary insights into human performance. He uses these lessons to help businesses beat their own expectations, covering areas such as acknowledging the true fight, overcoming adversity and crisis, challenging conventional wisdom, developing courage to take risks, and creating teams that think differently.

I am really proud to say that Chartwell is now representing Mark. For more information on Mark, please contact me on +44(0)20 7792 8001.
