Literary Agents

Chartwell’s Literary Agents provides specialist literary services to authors and speakers around the world. Operating from our offices in New York, our literary agents have senior editorial and marketing experience in global trade book publishing. We are a small, commercially-minded team who take a long term interest in our authors and their work. We are actively seeking authors, see our Submission Guidelines for ways to submit your writing.

A recent initiative by the firm, we have already generated substantial advances for our authors on both sides of the Atlantic. Working closely with our colleagues in Chartwell Speakers Bureau, we are well placed to advise our authors on book promotion and potential income streams via corporate speaking, lecture tours, conferences and live events.

We also regularly provide presentation coaching to our authors, and support them as they develop their online and offline presentations, often in tandem with the promotion of a new book. Read a post by Alex Hickman on “7 tips for writers who want to succeed as speakers”
