Edward Lucas writes an interesting article on Russia’s opposition to regime and its behaviour as “the world’s great spoiler”.  From supplying the Assad regime with arms to refusing to curb cyber-crime, “Whatever the West wants, Russia opposes” – a reaction based on paranoia says Edward. Despite the paradox that “Russia is actually quite weak” Edward warns of “a gruesome fight to the finish” for Syria if America and Europe continue to shy from confrontation.
